How often should you clean gutters in Central Florida?

Why Central Florida is its own case
Summer storms here arrive fast. A gutter that drains fine in a light rain can be sheeting over the front edge minutes into a real afternoon downpour, because the water shows up all at once.
Live oaks do not give you one clean leaf season. They drop through the year, so there is no single month where you clean once and are done until next winter.
Pine needles are the quiet problem. They pack down into the bottom of the run and into the downspout outlets, and from the ground the gutter still looks clear.

Signs your gutters need attention now
- Water sheeting over the front edge in a normal rain, not just in a storm.
- A water stain or a dark line running along the fascia under the gutter.
- A seedling growing in the gutter, which means there is enough packed debris to hold soil and moisture.
- A downspout that stays dry while the gutter above it overflows, which usually means the outlet is blocked.
- Mosquitoes around the house and standing water sitting in the gutter between rains.

If you are calling for a cleaning three or four times a year, leaf protection is usually the cheaper answer over time. Perforated aluminum leaf protection starts at $6 per linear foot and stainless steel micro-mesh, the premium option, starts at $7 per linear foot.
We will be straight with you about what guards do. They keep leaves and needles out of the gutter, so the yearly visit turns into an inspection instead of a full clearing. They do not make roof maintenance disappear. Debris still lands on top of the guard, and on a heavy oak lot somebody still has to look at it.
